Our team is seeking a CAD Designer to engineer and support the fabrication of the diverse printed circuit boards that power our world-class autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles. These PCBs feature a range of technologies, including analog circuitry, high-speed processing, and high-power design. Working under the guidance of senior-level engineers, we are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about converting electrical schematics and specifications into meticulously crafted, manufacturable, and testable hardware. Your work will form the foundational support for the next generation of AI, contributing to a safer and more secure world!
What you'll do:
  • The primary responsibility of this position is to provide design support throughout the hardware development process by performing the following:
  • Assist in the design and layout of printed circuit boards using Altium Designer.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to determine design requirements and ensure that PCB designs meet technical specifications.
  • Create new PCB designs and prepare documentation for production
  • Modify and revise existing PCB designs to enhance performance or to integrate new features.
  • Create and maintain CAD Component libraries
  • Prepare documentation for PCB designs and revisions.
  • Keep up to date with the latest PCB design technologies and Altium features.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience using a production-style PCB design CAD tool like Altium, Allegro, or PADs.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, and general knowledge of electronic hardware
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret electrical component footprints to aid in the creation of component libraries
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
  • AA or BS Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or similar field)
  • Experienced traversing the fabrication requirements of printed circuit boards.
  • Good understanding of high-speed signal integrity and PCB stack up requirements
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction
  • Highly efficient in using Altium Designer
  • Proven Track record of high-quality PCB designs
  • C.I.D. certified
