Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiation Oncology Physics Resident - **Cancer Center**.

In this role, the successful candidate A 2 year training position to provide the resident with the necessary clinical experience and preparation in order to take the medical physics boards and practice as a qualified medical physicist. The resident training position involves the participation and performance of the duties of a medical physicist. These include but are not limited to measurement and evaluation of performance of therapeutic and imaging radiation equipment used in the treatment of cancer, calibration of high dose-rate radiation equipment and planning systems, treatment planning, dose calculation, patient setup, quality control on radiation treatment planning, and consulting in non-routine patient treatments. The resident will participate in teaching medical residents, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists. The resident is expected to participate in research projects and protocols within the department.

Job Responsibilities:

Calibration and quality assurance of high dose radiation machines and imaging systems.

Treatment Planning and dose calculations

Quality control checks on treatment plans.

Weekly charts review

Teaching medical residents, radiation therapist and dosimetrist

Conference presentation and participation in quality assurance and peer review rounds

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
The resident will participate in teaching medical residents, dosimetrist and radiation therapist. the resident is expected to participate in research projects and protocols within the department. Must have excellent communication skills and comprehension of English language.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a MS or PhD from an accredited Medical Physics Program

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $86,074.72 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
