About the role:
As a Senior Engineer, you'll help design the foundation for how our global fintech platforms perform and scale. Your expertise and passion for Kubernetes will influence the design, engineering and development of our Kubernetes platform, supporting vital business processes.

About the team:

The Managed Container Platform (MCP) Engineering team is a small team dedicated to providing a scalable, standardized and industry leading container platform that is API-driven, workload portable and transparent to enableconsumer focus on application delivery.

What you will be doing:

* Manage Multi Cloud Kubernetes Engineering environmentsused for upgrade and featuredevelopment and testing

* Develop and maintain programs, scripts, Kubernetes controllers, cluster APIs, that aid in the operation and automation of tasks using various shell and scripting languages (YAML, Json, bash, Python, and Go).
* Documenting functional product solutions as well as key FIS financial services opportunities.

* Designing a scalable, secure, high performance core service layer, integrating it with the cloud orchestration and monitoring, authoring the code and automating the deployment (CI/CD).
* Maintaining a catalogue of reusable functional application components relevant for applications and product lines.

*Cross-team collaboration with lines of business and operations to develop new functionality.



What you will need:

* CNCF Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or CNCF Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

* Proficient to expert scripting and automation skills converting manual and maintenance functions into fully orchestrated automation.

* Expertise with end-to-end systems development life cycles and a background leading large projects.
* Five or more years in a distributed and heterogeneous computing environment, working with microservices best practices
* Experience designing and implementing platforms that host shared services on vSphere, OpenStack, Nutanix, BareMetal builds
* Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design-based tools and techniques
* A bachelor's in computer science or engineering, or the equivalent experience - post-graduate education desired.

* Working knowledge of Unix systems fundamentals and common network protocols

*Experience with Kubernetes SDN, routes, services,

* Hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines using one or more of the following: Jenkins, ArgoCD, Github Actions, JenkinsX etc.

* Experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks, version control workflows

* Extensive experience with tools like git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket

* Excellent interpersonal/communications skills, and the ability to work as part of a team

* Familiarity with Helm and manifest development and management

* Experience with Kyverno

* Istio ServiceMesh

* Tekton pipelines

* Ansible Automation

* Hypershift

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $123,810.00 - $207,980.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
