Electrical engineers at Sierra Space research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations. Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Thorough understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams


Preferred:

  • PhD or Master's in Electrical engineering or Mechanical preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical design applications (Siemens Capital
  • Suite, NX and TeamCenter experience desired)
  • Ability to understand and define complex Electrical system schematics
  • Ability to create and maintain three-dimensional (3D) wire harness installation models, electrical library parts and deliverable artifacts to support program reviews.
  • Expert knowledge of Electrical system requirements, processes, and methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of Electrical systems and their applications
  • Expert knowledge of grounding, bonding and shielding of Electrical systems
  • Expert knowledge of industry standards (AS50881, AC 43.13-1B, EIA-364, DO-160, 25.1701 and IPC620)
  • Expert knowledge of EMI/EMC and system channelization
  • Expert knowledge of the Validation and Verification process
  • Ability to learn and the desire to provide mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Great interpersonal skills with the desire to learn and the ability to take direction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$159,430.15 - $239,145.23

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
