The highly ranked School of Education (SoE) is home to 3,000 students pursuing degrees in the Arts, Education and Health fields. The Career Center strives to provide all students with access to meaningful career readiness education and connections to mentorship, high impact experiences, and work opportunities. Reporting to the Lead Employer Outreach & Engagement Manager, and in consultation with faculty and program leaders, develop and maintain sustainable partnerships with employers, industry leaders, alumni, and community members to facilitate student experiential learning, job/internship opportunities, and lifelong career readiness.
The position will center on four primary responsibilities:
- Relationship development: Develop and maintain partnerships with new and existing employers or community members within an industry portfolio with a particular focus on health and K-12 partners. Share industry insights and connections with career/academic advisors and with departments to facilitate student learning
- Equitable access to high impact experiences: Cultivate paid internships, field experiences and a network of professionals to support experiential education for all School of Education students
- Employer education through communication: Create and manage strategic communications campaigns to ensure employers can maximize their recruiting potential at UW-Madison
- Campus engagements and experiential education: Coordinate employer/alumni participation in workshops, guest lectures, career fairs, career treks, and employer networking sessions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships (preferably within the arts, health, education, or related fields)
- Experience with communications, marketing or social media campaigns in a professional setting
- Ability to articulate the importance of advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, and demonstrate ways you have or would advance this work
- Experience managing small to medium sized projects, programs, and/or events
- Demonstrated ability to clearly give and receive information through various mediums (email, presentations, proposals, calls, etc) to/from diverse audiences
- Experience collaborating across a diverse set of stakeholders to achieve a common goal
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of technology platforms and/or data analysis to support work productivity

Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a career services, talent acquisition, business development, outreach, training, or related role.
- Experience developing and maintaining strategic relationships (preferably within the arts, health, education, or related fields).
- Experience with communications, marketing or social media campaigns in a professional setting.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
