Operations Specialist

This position will manage and analyze all production data, including but not limited to OEE, scrap, and change over. Analyzing the data and removing outliers and providing this data to management in reports to make operational decisions. Will maintain operations visual control boards and communicate with all support departments regarding data management. Will be a subject matter expert for all electronic systems that are used in the business, i.e., Master Control, JD Edwards, Compliance Wire etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares and designs reports for uptime, change over and scrap. These reports drive departmental action and response.

  • Provides production operation performance data by designing report and graphs; generating daily production summary, efficiency and scrap reports, Daily Financial Report.

  • Manages and administers the creation of production work practices, changing departmental work practices; communicating changes to the department, shift or appropriate individuals; creating and administering necessary training; and monitoring results after changes have been communicated for Production Management.

  • Keeps documents current by migrating data, revisions and upgrades from electronic document systems; providing updated documents to the necessary users; and retiring documents that are obsolete.

  • Prepares materials for the Line Leader meetings; communicating necessary information to the department; attending meetings for Production Management when necessary; providing meeting briefs to Production Management.

  • Maintains departmental documents by analyzing and migrating data, revisions and upgrades in the approved electronic data management systems. This includes providing documents to the necessary users, retiring documents that have become obsolete, creating or requesting Change Order Request for other departments as necessary.

  • Manages all necessary purchasing order information as required to keep production environment and office supplied and functioning.

  • Mines and cleanses scrap data in order present information graphically for action, including the creation of pivot tables.

  • Provides a variety of requested documents with different departments to provide any requested input when needed.

  • Manages departmental communication boards as well creation of the power point presentations.

  • Creates, maintains and publishes the Operations and Maintenance departmental scorecard.

  • Performs daily labor reconciliation using JD Edwards and ADP.

  • Publishes daily labor reporting and trends weekly and monthly performance.

  • Coordinates and distributes weekly, monthly and quarterly site report for the Rockford team.

  • May require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Required:

  • Associate's Degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical school; and/or 3-5 years related experience and/or training.

  • Basic Mathematical Skills

  • Excellent Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs

  • Basic Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems that involve only a few concrete variables in standardize situations.

Preferred:

  • Ability to display excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
