EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year college with courses in mechanical drawing, EDM set-up/operation, tool and die, shop mathematics and machining processes; one year of mechanical trades training to become familiar with specific tool and die fixture building requirements; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, in English, analyze, and interpret documents such as specifications, computer programs, set-up sheets, routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply shop mathematics, interpret basic drawings, specifications, and formulas, and use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments together with a knowledge of application techniques.
REASONING ABILITY:
Requires ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables. Requires initiative and decision making judgment to plan, layout, and perform work.
