EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood education or Child Care from an institution of higher education; Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education or Child Development is preferred.
- Must have the ability to obtain DPI substitute permit within 90 days of employment.
- One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of early learning programs.
- Requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Completed, enrolled in or willing to enroll in childcare courses to meet the State of Wisconsin Licensing Regulations.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.
- Understands the YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Must have a current driver’s license and be able to travel to multiple work sites during a workday.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and work indoors and outdoors; must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children; see and hear well enough to keep children safe; and engage in physical activity with children.
